Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning;
For I trust in You;
Teach me the way in which I should walk;
For to You I lift up my soul.
Psalm 143:8 NASB
He is loving, kind, and merciful. He hears and answers His people’s prayers. He is faithful and righteous. He has done great things for His people. His presence is life-giving for those who trust Him. He is our Deliverer, our Refuge, our Guide. He teaches us His will. He protects us. He defeats our enemy.
No one is righteous. We only receive the benefits of God’s lovingkindness if we trust Him. It is good for us to meditate on His works, to remember them, so that we remember to take refuge in Him.
Do you long for Him as the psalmist does?
Reach out for God, long for Him, trust Him. For when we trust Him, He teaches us how to live, to walk in His ways, and He delivers us from our enemy.
We forget that He protects us by teaching us the way to live. We forget that walking in His way, trusting Him, is protection from the enemy. We forget that He is good to His people and shows us mercy by teaching us His ways, so we don’t trust Him. We trust ourselves instead. And then we lose hope.
Trust God, long for Him, seek Him, remember His works and His word. Then receive His protection, His deliverance.
Pray this way:
God give me faith and desire for You and Your ways. Let me trust in Your love, kindness, and mercy enough to learn to walk in Your ways because that is how You look our for me – by showing me the way to walk.</p>
